CLASS OVERVIEW BY RUN ORDER
Jacks Transmission GTR Quick Class (GQ): This class showcases an anything goes approach to R35 GTR performance. Giant turbochargers, methanol, liquid-to-air intercoolers, stripped interiors, Lexan windows and big slicks are just some of the modifications that you might find on these 6-second capable door slammers. PRO Light (0.400s) used in competition.
Fuel Injector Clinic (FIC) Quick Class (QK): All of the vehicle in this class must run a “Shootout Legal” engine. RWD vehicles must have originally been 4-cylinder powered Mitsubishi or Chrysler platforms. No solid axle conversions allowed for RWD vehicles. AWD vehicles may run a solid axle conversion if the car remains AWD. Vehicles in this class may run nitrous oxide and the turbo size is unrestricted. Cars in the class will run into the 7s. PRO Light (0.400s) used in competition.
AEM Performance Electronics GTR STREET (GS): Full race setups with a touch of sanity. This class showcases the epitome of stock-location turbocharger performance. While no restriction is stated on the sizing of the turbochargers, the location must remain stock. Engine modifications are left open and aftermarket intake manifolds are allowed. Vehicles in this class may run full slick tires. The end result is vehicles running into the high 7s or low 8s with the proper combination and tuning. PRO Light (0.400s) used in competition.
IDRC Pro RWD Class (PR): This class requires that all vehicles must run a Mitsubishi 4-cylinder engine (i.e. 4G63/64T, 4B11T, etc). However, that Mitsubishi 4-cylinder engine can go into any make of vehicle. In past years, we’ve seen 4G63T swaps into an RX7, ’69 Corolla, Classic Mustang, Fox-Body Mustang, BMW 3-series, Isuzu Pickup and a Volvo to name just a few. Vehicles in this class may run nitrous oxide and the turbo size is unrestricted. Cars in the class will run into the 7s. PRO Light (0.400s) used in competition.
IDRC GTR Eliminator (GE): Ultimate street GTRs in street trim. This class showcases the epitome of mid-sized turbocharger performance on an R35 GTR. Turbochargers are restricted to a 58mm inducer which means that these setups still have exceptional boost response. The turbochargers must also retain the OEM “turbofold” design. The top setups in this class will run deep into the 8s. All of the vehicles in this class must compete on D.O.T. radial tires. This class truly represents what many consider to be the “most fun” R35 performance combination for a street/strip competitor. Plenty of power without the tradeoff of the larger turbo setups. SPORTSMAN Light (0.500s) used in competition.
Kiggly Racing Street 32 Class (ST):Similar in rules to the Quick Class with the exception of the factory chassis and interior is maintained. All of the vehicle in this class must be a FWD/RWD/AWD Mitsubishi/DSM bodied vehicle powered by a 4G63/64T or 4B11T engine or its derivative. Factory floor pan and firewall must be retained, exhaust must exit UNDER the car with the exception of the wastegate and OEM front and rear location suspension required. No Lexan or acrylic windows may be used.
Haltech Street Elimintator (SE): This class is comprised of a variety of DSM and Mitsubishi platforms. Under the hood, it’s pretty much anything goes, as long as the wastegate dumps under the car or back into the rear-exiting exhaust. The interior of the vehicles must remain complete. Any D.O.T. tire is allowed in this class, but no nitrous oxide is permitted. PRO Light (0.400s) used in competition.
KOZMIC Motorsports GTR STOCK TURBO Class (GT): As the name implies, all of the GTRs competing in this class must maintain the OEM turbochargers. All vehicles must also run a D.O.T. approved radial tire. Despite these restriction, a properly built and tuned GTR Stock Turbo Class vehicle can still break into the 9-second range. This is a great class to showcase the maximum performance available with light to moderate tuning of the R35 platform. All of these vehicles will have only basic modification like exhaust system, intercooler, fuel system and tire upgrades. Of course, optimized calibration and tuning of the engine, transmission and suspension is what will set apart the quickest cars in this class from the rest of the pack. SPORTSMAN Light (0.500s) used in competition.
IDRC 9.5-SECOND INDEX (9.5) This index class is open to any vehicle powered by a Mitsubishi 4-cylinder, Mitsubishi 6-cylinder or Nissan 6-cylinder engine. This class accommodates both original make powered vehicles and “engine swap” vehicles. As an index class, the object is to get to the finish line first without going quicker than the index time of 9.5-seconds. IDRC index classes are amongst the fastest growing classes and the anything goes format to modifications allow for a large field. SPORTSMAN Light (0.500s) used in competition.
EXEDY Racing Clutch Stock Appearing (SA): This class is comprised of a variety of DSM and Mitsubishi platforms set up with the appearance of only light-tuning modifications. As such, all of the vehicles must use a stock location turbocharger and an OEM or 1-piece cast aftermarket intake manifold. The interior of the vehicles must remain stock appearing while the exterior must also feature factory glass, working headlights and windshield wipers. SPORTSMAN Light (0.500s) used in competition.
IDRC 11.5-SECOND INDEX (11.5): Like the 9.5-second index class, this index class is open to any vehicle powered by a Mitsubishi 4-cylinder, Mitsubishi 6-cylinder or Nissan 6-cylinder engine. This class accommodates both original make powered vehicles and “engine swap” vehicles. As an index class, the object is to get to the finish line first without going quicker than the index time of 11.5-seconds. SPORTSMAN Light (0.500s) used in competition.
IDRC BRACKET (BK): Traditional bracket racing with no delay boxes or racing aids allowed.
IDRC TEST&TUNE (TT): Open to any vehicle of any make to make runs in a non-competitive setting.
