Scott Oates

CONFIRMED – Scott Oates @ IDRC West Coast Nats – PB: 9.5 @ 160 mph

Long-time race veteran Scott Oates will be competing at the IDRC West Coast Nationals at Auto Club Speedway. Oates has competed at just about every IDRC event held in Southern California. His crew, Zero 4 Racing, has been together since 1997, evolving from all motor, daily driven machines to fully-built sport FWD racecars. His personal best slip of 9.50 at 160mph was set at IDRC Las Vegas, where he placed second in the class. During the past winter, Oates switched to a new engine management system that includes a programmable traction control. Along with a new harness and a new cam trigger system, Oates will be dialing in the car to be even quicker this year. His goal is to run in the 8-second realm for 2015. Oates stated, “We all have normal 9-to-5 jobs and are not in the automotive industry, but we love cars. We enjoy building and racing fast cars while having fun with friends and family at the track. The Zero 4 Racing team and I would like to thank all of our sponsors for helping in any way they do.”
