CONFIRMED – Jeff Chang @ IDRC West Coast Nats – PB: 9.483 @ 145 mph
Jeff Chang is a do-it-yourself racer who built this 2005 Subaru STI almost entirely on his own. Despite the STI’s rally-focused heritage, Chang was determined to make its 2.5-liter Boxer engine endure boost levels in excess of 30 psi and engine speeds over 8,000 RPM. Chang is a one-man team, serving as the engine builder, fabricator, tuner and the driver. For 2015, Chang has made improvements that have already delivered proven results. On February 21, 2015, Chang set a new personal best pass at Bakersfield, clearing the quarter mile in 9.483 at 145 mph. This achievement brings him within a half second of his next objective, to run an 8-second pass. Chang would like to thank his sponsors at AEM Electronics, Manley Performance, Competition Clutch, Radium Engineering, Brisk Racing, Fuel Injector Clinic and InsaneShafts for supporting his efforts on the dyno and on the track.
