Jesse Ramirez’ Toyota MR2 Turbo Hardtop

CONFIRMED – Jesse Ramirez – 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo

Jesse Ramirez will be representing in the INSTAFAME Car Show with his rare, 1991 Toyota MR2 Turbo hardtop. This MR2 had a storied past, having served as Bomex USA’s SEMA car in 1999. But when Ramirez acquired the car in 2005, it was in serious need of repair. After replacing numerous leaking seals and sorting out some electrical gremlins, he upgraded the interior with new seats, rebuilt the engine and transmission, and even did a hybrid Lexus/Toyota brake upgrade. He commented, “My favorite upgrade is the big brake upgrade composed of Lexus LS460 4-piston brake calipers matched with Toyota Supra brake rotors. These really set the MR2 apart from the rest. This MR2 is a true hard top turbo, which are rare. I’m fortunate to own it.” Ramirez was a founding member of Team DDR. He left the team for a short spell and returned for the 2015 season. He cited a change in the direction of the crew that drew him back, and he is proud of its social media reach spanning as far away as Australia. He’d like to thank his sponsors at Mishimoto, BFGoodrich, Corbeau Seats, ETL Garage, FSR Motorsport Creations and Daily Driven Motoring. He’d also like to thank his wife and child, Madalyn Paige for their support and patience.
